Sick Note

What is a Sick Note?

A fit note — also known as a sick note or Statement of Fitness for Work, is an official document provided by a qualified healthcare professional that confirms whether you are unfit for work due to a medical condition or fit to work with certain adjustments.

These documents are essential for employers and other organizations to understand your health status, ensuring you receive the necessary support during your recovery or when transitioning back to work under suitable conditions.

Our process is entirely online: You complete a questionnaire, upload supporting information / evidence, and our GP reviews the same. We provide standard sick/fit letters for up to 2 weeks. Please note that MED3 Sick/Fit Notes, which are required for longer-term absences or statutory pay, legal, occupational, or insurance purposes, are not available through our service.

Note: The MED3 is a specific type of sick/fit note generally required for longer term absence, statutory pay, legal, occupational, or insurance purposes. Unlike standard sick/fit notes, a MED3 provides a more detailed assessment of your fitness for work. This can only be issued only by a clinician, who has been involved in your ongoing care over a longer term - ideally your NHS GP / Hospital Consultant
